Domestic help alleges rape, accused held

A domestic maid working in Madhu Vihar area has alleged that she was raped inside a car by her friend on Tuesday night.

The women on Wednesday told the police that the accused was assisted by two other men, who were in the car during the time of the incident.

The police have arrested the main accused, Shahid, and are on the look-out for the two remaining accused.

The incident came to light when the woman had lodged her complaint with Madhu Vihar police station on Wednesday.

She told the police that on Tuesday night while she was returning from her work, she was lured inside an EccoSport car.

"Both the accused and the victim knew each other. They live in the same JJ Cluster located in Madhu Vihar. She has alleged that she was raped by her friend Shahid, while two other men who were in the car had assisted him in the act," said a senior police official privy to the investigation.

The woman was taken to the local police station for her medical examination after which the complaint was registered.

"All the men involved in the incident have been identified. The car in which the alleged crime took place has also been impounded. We are

confident that the remaining accused will be traced. The accused has been charged under section 376," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) Omvir Singh.
