Wanted sharpshooter held after Gr Noida shootout

A sharp shooter of Anil Dujana gang involved in couple of high profile murder cases was arrested by the Gautam Buddh Nagar police and its anti-extortion cell, following a brief shootout between the two sides here on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The police had also earlier announced a reward of Rs 15,000 for information about his whereabouts.
However, two other members of the gang managed to escape.
"We received a tip-off at around 11 in morning that Anil Dujana gang member Anit Bhati, alias Tota, and three of his accomplices were planning a murder and were hiding in village Junpat under Surajpur area of Greater Noida. Following this, the anti-extortion cell and the Kasna police laid a trap and intercepted them," said Love Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
"In the cross firing shootout, Bhati suffered a bullet injury on his leg after which he was taken into custody. A head constable and a constable of police also suffered minor injuries in the incident.
"The other accomplices who flee from the spot were chased and intercepted again near ATS society but they somehow managed to escape. However, we are conducting raids at various suspected locations to nab them," added Kumar.
Bhati was later taken to a district hospital in Noida where his condition was said to be stable. He is a named accused in a double murder case in village Junpat.
Apart from this, over a dozen cases of attempt to murder, robbery and extortion have been registered against him in various police stations across Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad.
