SDMC to intensify efforts to control dengue, malaria

The SDMC on Tuesday announced to intensify its efforts in the direction of prevention and control of Dengue and Malaria in all the localities coming under its jurisdiction.
The Commissioner Puneet Kr Goel in a high level meeting exhorted the Public Health Department to fully gear up to meet any eventuality.
He asked the department to make proper use of men, machines and material procured to prevent outbreak of these to diseases.
Goel instructed the DBC to ensure the checking in respect of mosquito breeding at every house. He stated that the SDMC is taking all possible steps to control the outbreak of the diseases.
During the year, the DBC's visited houses for around 7359859 times and found breeding in 23657 places. Further 25184 legal notices were issued whereas 1617 prosecutions were launched. The department collected 10,231 samples for Malaria. The Commissioner also exhorted all employees to remain alert.
The Public Health Department stated that big fishes are not being spared for mosquitoes breeding at their places.
Apart from the legal notices and prosecutions, 91 Challans have been issued by the four zones of SDMC during last five weeks ending from June 24 to July 2 at various government agencies.
It has been decided to intensify checking of mosquitoes breeding at big establishment, institutions and offices. Wherever the breeding will be noticed an appropriate action will be taken.
