Two arrested, one apprehended by Delhi Police for robbery

The Delhi Police have arrested two men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with a robbery case on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Vikram Chauhan and Gaurav Kumar. While Vikaram was arrested from Khirki village, his co-associate Kumar and the juvenile were rounded up when Chauhan revealed their location during his interrogation, said police.
The case came to light on the intervening night of 1-2 July, when the complainant of the case reported that the incident took place when he was passing through Select City Walk with his friends and was on his way to Khirki village. At that time, one of the accused made contact with the group and asked them for their cell phone.
"When the complainant gave his cellphone, the boy took the phone and ran towards Satpula Fort. When the group chased the boy, the co-associates who were waiting for them, intercepted the group with country-made pistols and robbed them of Rs 3,300 in cash and four mobile phones," said DCP (south) Ishwar Singh.
The accused confessed that they used to rob cash, jewelry, and mobile phones from the unsuspecting victims who would stand near isolated areas with negligible crowds and dark stretches with poor lighting.
Following this, the accused would take out their country made pistols and scare the victims into parting with their belongings.
"They further disclosed that they used to dispose of the robbed items to unknown persons at cheaper rates to fuel their drug habits. Also, Vikram has several criminal cases against him," the officer added.
