Mercedes rams into police van on DND, three injured

Three policemen including the Assistant Commissioner of Delhi Police (ACP) were injured after a speeding Mercedes-Benz car rammed into their police jeep on the Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) Expressway on Saturday night.
The ACP suffered internal leg injuries while the other two cops received bruises in hand and other minor injuries.
ACP Jai Kishan, along with other cops were patrolling on DND Expressway when the Mercedes-Benz car which was coming from behind at a very high speed collided into their vehicle at around 1:30 am.
The Mercedes Benz car is registered on the name of Mohit Goglia. He has also been identified as the driver of the car at the time of the incident.
Goglia, the driver has claimed that heavy rain made him lose his control over the vehicle due to which he could not apply the brakes.
However, the policemen present at the spot denied his claim and said that it was drizzling during the time of the accident. "He was driving at a very high speed," said cops.
Soon after the incident, the Delhi and Gautam Buddh Nagar police reached the spot and took the driver into police custody.
"As the incident was reported to us, a police team sent to the spot. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital and after getting the treatment they were discharged from the hospital. A case under sections 279 and 337 has been registered against the accused driver of the Mercedes car in Noida sec 20 police station. The vehicle has been taken into police custody and we are probing into the matter" said Anil Kumar Shahi, station house officer, Sector 20 police station.
