Many girls return empty handed from Lady Shri Ram College

The second cut off list for Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College left many aspirants disheartened, as the window for many acclaimed courses including BA Economics (Hons), BCom (Hons), BSc Maths (Hons) closed for the general category.
Many students could not get into the College as they missed out on their chance at getting admission by a margin of 0.5 per cent and had them rush to other colleges in Delhi University.
"I got 97 per cent and the cut-off was 97.2. I was hoping I would get into LSR in the second cut-off for B.Com (H), but now I'm rushing to another college," says Srishti, an aspirant.
Along with Srishti, many other students entered the college gates only to realise that their dream of getting admission to LSR won't be fulfilled in the second cut-off. Parents of some aspirants told Millennium Post that they would now try for other colleges in DU or wait for the third cut-off.
"My daughter scored 95 per cent, but still we had to apply through sports to get her admission in LSR. I don't think admission should be on the basis of marks. There should be an entrance for every subject. Students with 80 per cent also deserve a chance," said a parent.
As some students stood in the queue seeking admission, there were a few who were trying to withdraw their application with the announcement of the second cut-off. "I am here to take my application back as I got into SRCC with the announcement of the (second) list. I got admission there at 97 per cent" said Shreya, who had applied for LSR in the first cut-off.
While some students have left LSR for other colleges, many still await the third list.
