Youth stabbed to death by neighbour for affair with wife

A 20-year-old youth was stabbed to death for his alleged illicit relationship with the wife of the accused in Bhajanpura area of North East Delhi.

The incident occurred when the deceased, Shanu, had gone to the house of the accused Vinod allegedly to meet his wife.

However, the accused, along with a minor nephew, caught hold of Shanu and stabbed him at least 20 times with a knife and locked his dead body in a room in the house.

Soon, the neighbours saw blood in the drains near Vinod's house and alerted the police.

The accused and his nephew immediately fled the spot, but were soon caught by a police team.

"We have arrested the main accused and apprehended the minor in the murder case," said A K Singla, DCP North East.

It has been learnt that the deceased, who was a neighbour of the accused, had developed intimacy with Vinod's wife.

Vinod soon got to know about the alleged affair and often confronted Shanu, telling him to mend his ways.

When Vinod saw that Shanu was still in touch with his wife, he sent her to his village.

However, Shanu was not aware of this and went to the house to know her whereabouts. When he reached Vinod's house, he was dragged inside by Vinod and his nephew, and stabbed multiple times in the stomach with a sharp-edged knife.

Realising that Shanu was dead, Vinod and his nephew tried to flee but were later caught.

"The neighbours informed us and when we reached the spot, the blood stained body of the young man was found. The body has been sent for post-mortem," said a police officer.
