Chief Minister gets struck in Gurugram's traffic jam

Around 24 millimetres of rainfall on Wednesday and early showers on Thursday resulted in traffic blockades around various parts of Gurugram. Among those affected was the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar who was held up at the Golf Course Road.
The Haryana Chief Minister's motorcade was held up near Sector -53 area.
While it was just a few minutes of inconvenience for the Chief Minister, many commuters were kept waiting for hours owing to waterlogging, construction activities and heavy traffic rush that slowed down the movement of the vehicles. Affected areas were Golf Course Road, MG Road, NH-8, Sohna Road and Mahavir Chowk. Traffic jams these areas were also reported on Wednesday evening. It was not only a challenge for thousands for commuters but also several police officials that were deployed to maintain the traffic. "This monsoon season will again expose the lack of infrastructure and the irresponsibility of people at the helm. However, on the positive note it is good to see large number of police officials on the city roads in managing the heavy traffic," said Aman Jain, a resident.
