SDMC orgranises workshop for councillors, RWA officers

With an aim to spread awareness against vector-borne diseases ahead of the monsoons, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) organised a workshop for the Councillors and RWAs office bearers and members at its headquarters on Thursday.

SDMC Mayor Kamaljeet Sahrawat said that dengue, chikungunia and malaria erupt only because of carelessness."It is easy to stop breeding by taking a few precautions such as cleaning and drying up all utensils, tyres, coolers, flower pots. Also, by putting full sleeves clothes to avoid mosquito bites especially for kids. The breeding of Aedes mosquitoes take place in the clean water in and around residences," she added.
SDMC for long has been installing hoardings, banners and distributing handbills apart from getting publicity on Radio and TV. The auto tippers and three wheelers are also helping in this regard. In order to remove the fear of the residents about the authenticity of the DBC workers, the SDMC has provided them uniform, identity cards and tablets to maintain an up-to-date record
