Now, Ggn cops have to clear examination to get placed

To get placed in their desired positions in a department, the Gurugram Police have to pass an examination for the placements set by the department.
The idea of having an examination was initiated by Sandeep Khirwar, the Gurugram Police Commissioner in order to have suitable officials for the required departments.
The stipulated time and marks for the examination is two hours and 100 marks respectively.
Exam for placement of officials in Commissioner Office and Crime Units in the District is slated to be held in the first week of July.
It was to be first conducted in the last week of June but with a large number of officials being busy in traffic management during monsoons the dates were deferred.
According to police sources, it has been intimated to the cops who fail the examination will have to leave their following departments.
"Holding an examination will also be an effective way to check the calibre of the officials who have often been accused of being in the department based on a recommendation," said sources.
This move comes at a time when 3000 strong police force is facing an onerous task of rising crimes in the district.
On an average, there are 10 vehicles that are stolen every day from the city, 25 percent rise in sexual crimes this year and daily cases of burglaries and snatchings.
In accordance with rising in the population of the city, 10 police stations were added in the district taking the total number of police stations to 35. Also, a large number of officials have recently been posted in Gurugram.
Recent incidents of crimes that have been reported and its handling by the officials had resulted in the heavy criticism of the District Police.
