Second round of ECA trials to start today

With the preliminary round of trials for extra-curricular activities (ECA) quota came to an end on Thursday, the second round of trials is set to start on Friday, and will continue till July 5.
According to an official at Delhi University, "Some colleges reserve up to 5 per cent of their seats for sports and ECA quota. Students can avail a relaxation of up to 15 per cent in their overall cut-off under the ECA quota."
"The ECA trials, as explained by the name itself, include various curricular of visual as well as literary art, such as creative writing, dance, instrumental and vocal, debate, etc. These trials are one of the best ways to help students give their best," he added.
To judge the trials, the varsity has constituted a panel of judges, which includes specialists from the particular field, along with the principal and the coordinator of the particular college.
This year, the University received 20,207 applicants. Around 800-900 candidates will be given admission through ECA quota.
The trials for different arts will take place at different colleges of the University.
"The schedule is tact and, as per the varsity officials, everything regarding the admission will be finished on time," said Dr Amrita Bajaj, Deputy Dean Welfare, DU.
