Filipino diplomat's son sexually assaulted by classmate

The son of Philippines diplomat was allegedly sexually assaulted by his classmate in South Campus, police said on Monday.

The victim and the accused studied together in the same class.

The accused boy's father is a diplomat from Angola. The police have registered a case but owing to diplomatic immunity, the buy was not apprehended.

According to the police, the matter came to light on June 22 after the child's parents informed the police about the incident.

The parents revealed that despite holiday season, their son would remain quiet and aloof.

After persistent attempts, he opened up and told his parents that he was being sexually assaulted by his classmate.

He said that he was first assaulted by the boy around March and the sexual assaults continued. The accused would later threaten to kill him if he revealed the incident.

After a medical examination of the boy was conducted, it was confirmed that he was assaulted.

Two days after the victim had given a complaint, the family of the accused also turned up at the police station and levied counter allegations.

They also submitted a complaint, however no case was registered.

The two boys studied together at a private school in Anand Niketan area.

The accused resides with his parents at the Angola Embassy in Vasant Vihar whereas the victim resides with his family at the Philippine Embassy at Chanakyapuri.

"We have registered a case under section 377 (unnatural sex), 506 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)
at the South Campus Police Station," said a senior police official.
