Police arrested illegal arms suppliers in Gzb

The Ghaziabad police on Monday nabbed three persons accused of supplying illegal arms in Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut and other districts of Uttar Pradesh. The arrests came as part of the ongoing drive in the district to arrest people involved in supplying illegal arms. Police has also seized three country made pistols and a maruti WagonR car from the accused.

Ravindra Kumar Rathi, Station House Officer of Bhojpur Police Station, said, "In the ongoing drive to keep a tab on people carrying illegal activities in the district and supplying arms in Uttar Pradesh, we got a tip-off about three arms suppliers. "We deployed a police team for checking of vehicles on Pilakhua road, where we nabbed Kamle alam, Nitin and Mohit, who were travelling in a maruti WagonR car at around 11:10 am on Monday," added Rathi.

"The three accused were going to hand over illegal arms to a customer in Ghaziabad. They have accepted to have a gang of arm suppliers and manufacturers. We are trying to interrogate the arrested persons to nab the other gang members also," said Rathi.

According to police, Kamle alam holds a notorious criminal history having more than ten case registered in Meerut and nearby districts under robbery and arms act.
