General, Veterinary trade license services launched online

East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) on Friday launched the online facility to enable the traders to apply for services such as 'General Trade License' and 'Veterinary Trade License'. With this move, the people can complete the whole procedure in 15 minutes subject to further verification by the regarding authority.
President of Delhi BJP and Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari, while inaugurating the facility, said that the new initiative taken by the Corporation "should strive to deliver maximum possible service online".

"Online issue of trade license would help reduce the scope of corruption and save time on part of the applicants. With inauguration of this facility, traders will be able to receive general trade license through a simple online procedure within 10-15 minutes.

"This can be done by just uploading the required documents and paying requisite payment through online mode," said Tiwari.

Mayor Neema Bhagat informed that the online application for this purpose is available on website of EDMC (www.mcdonline.gov.in).

She said that the online facility enables traders to get license without any human interface, thus limiting the scope of bribery and reducing the delays in the process.
Also, she stated that while the general trade license can be obtained in 10-15 minutes, the process for veterinary trade license would start as early as within 24 hours of uploading the required documents.

According to Bhagat, that East Delhi Municipal Corporation's functioning would be digitised completely in coming future and citizens need not run to offices for availing the various stated services.
