Traffic advisory issued by cops for Yoga Day

On the International Day of Yoga 2017, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for areas around Connaught Place with a massive event planned at the heart of the city.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, along with over 10,000 people will be performing Yoga at the Inner Circle of the Connaught Place from 6 am to 7.40 am on Wednesday.

In the Red Zone, there would be no traffic movement. The Inner Circle CP, Middle Circle CP and the radial roads within the Outer Circle CP will be closed for traffic till 11.00 am on Wednesday.
However, the yellow one would be having partial restrictions. Traffic on the Outer Circle CP and some Radial roads leading to the Outer Circle will be partially affected from 5.00 am to roughly 9.00 am due to movement of the participants of Yoga programme.

Except for vehicles/buses carrying parking labels, traffic on these roads will be restricted as per requirement.

The roads seeing partial restrictions are Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, Panchkuian Road, Chelmsford Road, Minto Road, Barakhamba Road, Janpath and Parliament Street.

In the green corridor, the roads would be open to all. All major roads encircling Connaught Place and in vicinity will remain open for movement of traffic, Ashoka Road, Bhai Veer Singh Marg, RK Ashram Marg, Panchuian Road, Rani Jhansi Road, Desh BandhuGupta Road, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, Bhav Bhuti Marg, Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, Ranjit Singh Flyover, Tolstoy Marg and
Janpath after Tolstoy crossing.
