One arrested from Shahdara for selling counterfeit air filters

After receiving complaints about fake air filters flooding the market, Delhi Police swung into action and arrested one person for selling counterfeit filters having labels of branded products.

The counterfeit filters were being sold under the guise of branded products of reputed companies, such as Bosch Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Maruti Suzuki Ltd and Kirloskar Proprietary India Ltd.

In the course of the investigation, police found out about a house in Dalhai Mohalla in Bhola Nath Nagar, Shahdara, where the ground floor was being used as warehouse. Some of the fake filters were found at the warehouse.
"During the raid, the owner of the premises Hardeep Singh, a resident of Lajpat Nagar IV, showed up. He was asked about documents related to the material, but he could not give a satisfactory reply nor could he produce any documents. On checking the stored material, accompanying officials of M/S EIPR (India) Ltd confirmed that the material at the ware house was counterfeit," DCP Shahdara, Nupur Prasad said.

The warehouse was stored with 506 air filters, with logos of different companies, in sealed and unsealed condition. Additionally, an inkjet printer, painted and black stickers, and a computer were confiscated.
