In an effort to boost security and uplift law and order situation, the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida is soon to get eight more police stations.
The police stations in Gautam Buddh Nagar will be part of the first set of 200 to be established in the state. In total, the government has proposed 1,200 police stations to be set up across the state.
Following the directions from the government, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police has written to the Noida Authority to allocate land for the police stations. The government has insisted the police expedite the process.
"We have identified the places where the new stations will come up. We have written to the Noida Authority CEO to allocate land for the police stations. Six police stations will come up in Noida and two in Greater Noida. The work for land allotment will start soon. Once into operations, the move will help improve policing in the two areas" said Arun Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
"The Noida Authority officials assured us that there is enough land for the new police stations," said a police officer.
The new police stations in Noida will be named as Phase 1, Okhla Barrage, Sector 115, 106, 142, and 63. The other two in Greater Noida will be known as NTPC Dadri and Greater Noida police stations. The newly built police stations will divide the areas from existing police stations in the city. The decision has come up in the wake of the increasing population and urbanization in the twin cities.
In another effort put by the Gautam Buddh Nagar police, it launched 19 new leopard police patrolling motorbikes in the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida. These motorbikes will be focused on providing immediate and emergency help to the victim after a complaint is lodged.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Love Kumar flagged off the new patrolling bikes on Monday.
"We have introduced 19 new patrolling motorbikes in Gautam Buddh Nagar. A bike will be provided to each police station in the city. The move is likely to boost the security system in the twin cities on Noida and Greater Noida. The 200cc motorbikes will provide immediate help as the Police PCR vans take the time to reach the spot" said a senior police official.
"The bikes will be loaded with hooter and wireless system. Two police officials will be deployed on each motorbike. The bikes will be monitored by the respective police station" said a police official.
