Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh on Saturday inaugurated the first-of-its-kind AYUSH Wellness Centre at Dharma Marg in Chanakyapuri here, which will provide alternative medicine treatment to residents of the national Capital.
Singh said the centre, set up by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), in the city's diplomatic area is a step towards promoting and popularising Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH).
He hoped that diplomats living in the area would act as brand ambassadors of traditional medicine systems whenever they return to their own country.
"It is the foremost duty and responsibility of the Council to extend better and desired medical facilities to the diplomats," Singh said after inaugurating the centre.
Lauding NDMC's efforts, New Delhi MP Meenakashi Lekhi said that the traditional system of medicine in India used an integrated approach of culture, tradition and nature for curing deceases.
