20-yr-old jumps off Sarita Vihar footbridge, dies

In another case of suicide, a 20-year-old woman died after jumping from Sarita Vihar Metro foot over bridge at around 10. 05 pm on Thursday.

She was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead by the doctors.

The victim is yet to be identified.

"We hear a sudden loud noise and run to see what happened. We saw a body lying in a pool of blood," narrated few rikshaw pullers who witnessed the alleged suicide.

Following this, a crowd gathered around the woman. Few of the local residents made a Police PCR call.

The girl who was profusely bleeding was rushed to nearby Apollo hospital by some men in their car.

However, before the girl could reach the hospital, she breathed her last on the way.

"The girl was wearing a black top and white pant. She jumped from the foot over bridge of the Sarita Vihar Metro on the main road. She could not be identified," said DCP South East Romil Baaniya.

No identity card has been found from her belongings.

The Delhi Police is now scanning the missing reports registered across the Delhi Police stations to fetch clues.

"It seems that the girl came to the foot over bridge to commit suicide and hence did not carry any identity. We could not find any mobile on the spot," said a senior police officer.

The cops are also checking the CCTV footages around the area to get clues on the victim's whereabouts. Also, locals in the vicinity are being questioned regarding the incident.
