Residents in Ggn private colonies still being charged maintenance fee

Despite the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG)'s announcement to take over the maintenance of private colonies soon, the residents are still being charged maintenance fee by the private developers.

Also, some developers have hiked the fee. In the recent quarterly maintenance bills, the fee was hiked from Rs 2.5 per square yard to Rs 3.5 square yard. This excludes the water charges that are being levied by the builders.

The residents of such have accused the developers of charging an exorbitant sum for maintenance and yet not proving adequate services.

Also, most belonging from colonies of Ardee city and Sushant Lok are continuing their protests against the builders for poor maintenance services.

In DLF, the residents stated that they have received notices to pay the bills.

"As the services have deteriorated over the years, most of us feel cheated of paying such high amounts. The developers also don't return the pending dues," said Chetan Bhargava, a resident of DLF City. On Tuesday, MCG will hold a discussion on the transfer of private colonies with the resident bodies at Mini Secretariat building near DC Chamber. '

The meeting is scheduled from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
