Brother, sister sneak out of home, get run over by speeding train

Little did the brother-sister duo know that their secret play plan would end their lives in a moment.

On Friday morning, both of them were tragically killed after being hit by a speeding train while playing near the railway tracks.

"The children silently escaped from home after their mother asked to get the water bottles filled," said their mother.

The incident took place around 7:30 am in the Kadkad model area of Link road region of Ghaziabad.

The deceased 12-year-old Sudhir and his 10-year-old sister Himanshi hailed from Hardoi district.

They lived with their family in Kadkad model area.

Rojant Tyagi, Station House Officer, Link road police station said,

"The family was in deep sorrow as they lost both of their children. Both died after getting hit by a train. They were rushed to nearby hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. The train was moving from Anand Vihar, Delhi towards Ghaziabad. The bodies have been sent for the post-mortem and reports are awaited. Through our investigations, it's clear that they have accidentally died after being hit by a train while playing near the railway track".

The impact of the collision was such that the bodies came out in pieces. Sudhir was found beheaded while Himanshi's legs were detached from her body.The duo's father works in a private company and the family belongs to the lower strata.

Ram Mahesh, father of the deceased said, "The neighbors informed us about the incident. Some children came to our home screaming loud on the same. We rushed to the spot and found both of them dead."
