Police nab Aerocity shuttle bus pickpocket

A pickpocket who only used to target passengers near the Aerocity shuttle bus area was arrested on Tuesday from the bus stop area near Terminal -1 at the Domestic Airport here.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Hassan (22), used to reportedly commit the thefts due to his drug habit.

The incident came to light when the IGI police received information on May 8-9 that a passenger named Dilip Kumar reportedthat he was pickpocketed in the shuttle bus.

Within two hours, another passenger Abhinav Kumar reported that his belongings were found missing from the same spot.

The police then constituted a team and analysed the CCTV footages. The accused was eventually zeroed in, who was loitering around the area.

Several important documents of the complainants and Rs 50,000 in cash were also recovered.
