Twin fires engulf companies in Noida, Greater Noida

The twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida witnessed massive fire incidents in two separate private companies on Tuesday. However, no casualty was reported from the incidents but goods over lakhs of rupees turned to ashes.

The first incident took place around 10 am when a massive fire engulfed the premises of Nio Craft, a toy manufacturing company located in F-block of Noida Sector 63.

"We received the information at around 10:17 am and five fire tenders along with hydraulic platforms were rushed to the spot. It took around six hours to douse the flames. Around 100 workers were present in the building but all of them escaped before the flames engulfed the whole building. Firefighters took control of the fire on time which restricted the flames to harm nearby buildings," said Kuldeep Kumar, Fire Station Officer, Noida.
The reason behind the fire is unknown as of now but the fire officials are suspecting that the painting area at third floor caught fire and got spread to the other floors.

In another incident, EPACK, a thermocol packing factory caught fire in Surajpur area of Greater Noida around 6 pm. Over 10 fire tenders were called.

Even after the fire incident in a Noida-based company killed six employees a few days ago, the unreadiness of the fire department was seen as soon after the fire vehicles turned empty, panic among the officials and a delay in taking control was witnessed at both the spots.
