DEA engineers laud CM's decision to hike grade pay

NEW DELHI: After getting nod for the upgradation of the grade pay of Junior Engineers and Assistant Engineers of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Friday, representative of the Delhi Engineers Association (DEA) met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence to express their gratitude.
At the meeting, the DEA general Secretary Param Yadav said, "We came here to convey our gratitude and thanked the CM for the historical decision of upgrading the grade pay of Junior Engineers and Assistant Engineer of the Board from Rs 4,200 per month to Rs 4,600 per month and Rs 4,600 per month to Rs 5,400 per month, respectively."
Yadav said that the increase of grade pay shall come into notional effect from January 1, 2016.
Acting Chief Engineer of DJB Shalab Kumar said that this "historical decision would be benefited to 800 engineers," as it had been pending was hanging for over a decade.
