DCW notice to North MCD commissioner over failed demolition drive in GB Road

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued summoned North MCD commissioner after it claimed that the corporation failed in its duty to demolish GB road brothels.
The Commissioner has been asked to come to the office on December 13.
The commission in its findings observed that despite repeated requests has till date failed to seal these illegal hidden cells or take any concrete action despite conduction of two surveys in the area. The information of presence of these illegal structures in the brothels has been brought to the notice of North MCD time and again by the commission. It also claims that on November 6 the Commissioner, North MCD on the above mentioned failure to demolish or seal the illegal structures.
For long the DCW Chairperson Swati Jaihind has stated the business of trafficking and illegal flesh trade at G.B road cannot flourish without the involvement of big names and police was reinforced with this case.
She has often claimed that it is very evident that the police are working in collusion with the brothel owners for trafficking minor girls.
