Criminal shot at in Narela encounter
NEW DELHI: In an encounter with Delhi Police special cell, a criminal was injured in police firing in Narela on Monday evening.
The accused was shot by Delhi Police on his leg and wa admitted to the hospital. The accused has been identified as Sumit alias Tinka.
He is also said to be involved in the liquor business. The Delhi police was looking for him in several cases of robbery and murder cases in the capital.
DCP Special cell PS kushwah said that Sumit was wanted in robbery and murder cases.
When the police tried to arrest him he opened fire at the police team and in the retaliatory fire, Sunit was hit by a bullet in the leg.
The police team acted on secret information that Sumit alias Tinka would be coming to Narela where the police team laid tap. As they confronted him he opened firing forcing the police team to return fire in self-defence.
"He is undergoing treatment, He is a notorious criminal wanted in several cases," said a senior police officer.
