Criminal jumps off balcony to dodge police in Haryana, dies

NEW DELHI: Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested three desperate criminals after a raid that started in Delhi and ended at Samalkha, Panipat, Haryana. The fourth criminal carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh from Delhi Police, jumped down from the first floor balcony and succumbed to his injuries. The other three who have been arrested are Deepak, Surender, Vijay and Mahesh jumped seeing the police party and later sucumbed to his injuries in the hospital. A raid was conducted at 9 pm at Prahlad Pur Bangar in Delhi and Deepak was arrested.

On further interrogation he disclosed that he knew about the hideout of his other associates Mahesh alias Thekedar, Surender alias Kaira and Vijay alias Monu in Samalkha,Panipat, Haryana. A police team immediately swung into action and raided the first floor house at Khatik Basti Punjabi Mohalla, opposite in Samalkha, Panipat, Haryana.

Surender and Vijay apprehended at the spot. Their third associate Mahesh alias Thekedar jumped off from first floor balcony in a bid to escape and got injured.

He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. During interrogation, a sophisticated Chinese Star 7.65 mm automatic pistol with 5 rounds was recovered from his car, I-10 Grand, parked at M- Block, Market Shakurpur, Delhi.

"During further enquiry, it was found that the accused were involved in two sensational cases in Delhi. The first case is of the year 2006 where the accused had committed murder while opposing a love marriage of the cousin sister in Punjabi Bagh area. The second case was of the year 2016 where a 20 year old young boy was kidnapped in his BMW car and was released after his family paid ransom money of Rs. One Crore," Additional CP Crime Rajiv Ranjan said.
