Crime branch sleuths fly to Chennai to serve notice to Dinakaran

The Delhi police crime branch team has reached Chennai to serve notice to TTV Dinakaran in the alleged bribery case to buy the 'Two Leaf' symbol for AIADMK.

The team left from IGI Airport on Wednesday evening.

Dinakaran, who was named in the first information report by the Delhi police is accused of colluding with Sukesh Chandrashekhar, a middleman in the case.

The duo is accused of attempting to bribe the election commission to get a favourable verdict on the AIADMK's symbol.

Sukesh is in police custody from the day he was arrested from a luxury hotel in Delhi.

"Our investigating officers have gone to Chennai to serve notice to Dinakaran." said Madhur Verma, DCP Crime.

Earlier, the cops said that they have enough evidence against Sasikala's nephew Dinakaran.

Rs 1.3 crore in cash was seized from Sukesh, following which he spilled the beans on an alleged plan to get the party symbol against pay-offs of around Rs 50 crore, said police.

Cops are questioning Sukesh to get the money trail of the huge amount that he allegedly received in cash.

Apart from section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (gratification to influence public servant), Dhinakaran, Sukesh and others have been slapped with sections 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 170 (impersonating a public servant) of the IPC.
