Couple kills self in Dwarka hotel room

A young boy and a girl were found hanging in a OYO room in south west Delhi's Dwarka Sector 17 area on Friday afternoon.
The cops have seized the rooms and have taken up investigation in what seems to be a suicide case prima facie.
According to police, the boy was from Dwarka itself while the girl was a resident of Rohini and a student of Lady Hardinge Medical College. They had booked the room online.
"They checked in the hotel on Thursday and were supposed to check out on Saturday by 12 noon," said a police officer.
However, when the couple did not check out on the specified time, the hotel staff went to check them in their room. Despite continuous knocking when the couple did not open the room, the staff informed the management.
The staff again came back after half and hour around 4:30 pm, this time accompanied by the management.
On repeated banging of the door, when it was not opened and nobody answered, the police was informed.
"We have to break open the door in the presence of the hotel staff. We found the boy and the girl hanging from the ceiling fan. Police brought down the bodies. We are now analysing the CCTV footage of the hotel to confirm any doubts," said Surender Kumar, DCP South West Delhi.
According to sources, the couple has also changed the room during the night because of the power cut. After the alleged suicide, the cops have sealed both the rooms.
Soon after the incident, the crime team and the forensic team visited the spot and collected all evidence.
"We have informed the parents of the couple. No suicide note was found. We have also seized the DVR of the CCTV," added Kumar.
