Cops yet to make arrests in stray dog killing

NEW DELHI: Three days after the brutal killing of a stray dog, the Delhi Police is still to make any substantial headway in the incident and no arrests have been made so far.
The CCTV footage of a sleeping dog went viral on the social media in which three men were seen to be killing the dog with stones while one keeping guard at the end of the lane in Vasant Vihar area of south Delhi.
"We are taking the matter seriously and have formed several teams to identify the killers. However, they still remain to be identified. Our team is thoroughly scanning the CCTV footage that has captured the incident," said Chinmoy Biswal, Additional DCP South Delhi.
The video grab was recorded on August 15 around 4 am. The men were seen crushing the head of a sleeping mongrel with stones and later carrying it away after stuffing it ito a polybag.
The three men were seen silently creeping towards the dog, carring stones in their hands while one kept a watch on the lane.
In next few minutes, the video showed the men aiming the head of the sleeping dog and brutally and repeatedly attacking it with big stones.
The CCTV grab showed that the dog probably bled to death in three shots by the men.
Later, they were seen carrying the dog to a smaller and darker lane away from the street light where it was killed.
The men, later, were seen carrying a white polybag and rushing towards the lane where the dog is kept to stuff it into the polybag.
