Cops nab gunrunner, pistols recovered

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a gun runner Khajanchi Singh (50) resident of Prem Nagar and recovered four firearms, two 7.65 bore pistols and two .315 bore country- made pistols from him.
A large cache of ammunition has also been seized from his possession. Singh had procured the firearms from Siwan in Bihar for selling in Delhi.
The team developed intelligence through all possible sources. The police found that one Khajanchi Singh was dealing in illicit firearms.
A trap was then laid and on September 21, at 4:50 pm, Khajanchi Singh was apprehended from Sukhi Naher Veer Bazar in Prem Nagar, Delhi.
The Delhi police also recovered three extra magazines, and ten 12 bore rounds were also seized.
"On sustained interrogation he has revealed that he had procured the weapons from Siwan, Bihar in the month of January this year. He had smuggled the firearms to Delhi to use andsell them to criminals. He has a past criminal record and was found to be involved in two criminal cases. In April 2013, he and his gang members had looted a plastic godown in the area of Nangloi, Delhi," said DCP Crime, Joy Tirkey.
After coming out of jail, he and his gang members looted a factory manufacturing fire extinguishers in 2014.
