Cops hunt for clues day after DM was found dead

New DelhI: A day after the alleged suicide of Buxar DM, Delhi Police claimed that after getting an information about his missing from national Capital, they have launched a search to trace him out.
On Thursday, the body of the deceased IAS officer Mukesh Kumar Pandey was found near the Railway tracks at Ghaziabad junction. He was currently posted as a District Magistrate.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Chinmoy Biswal stated that they received an information in Sarojini Nagar Police Station on Thursday from the relatives of Mukesh who arrived in Delhi and checked into Hotel Leela Palace on Thursday morning and went missing.
"On the complaint of his sister-in-law, a missing person DD entry was lodged and search were undertaken to trace him out," said Biswal.
He further added that later they came to know that the officer was found dead on a railway track in Ghaziabad on Thursday evening.
According to police, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ghaziabad is conducting the inquest and postmortem of the body is being done by a medical board of three doctors in Ghaziabad.
Another DCP from West Delhi, Vijay Kumar stated that on Thursday around 6:30 pm they got one information through the batch mates of the IAS officer that he may commit suicide at District Centre Mall in Janakpuri.
Immediately, police reached the spot and found no such call or incident.
"CCTV footages were checked and he was seen going out of the mall around 5:55 pm. Then we checked more CCTV and he was seen moving towards metro station," said the DCP, adding that footages of metro station were also checked but they did not find him.
Around 9 pm, they got information that his body is found at Ghaziabad area.
