Cops dig grave, take out man's body on murder suspicion

New Delhi: A group of policemen reached the graveyard in Rohini's Begampur and dug out a grave on Tuesday. The reason for this was a complaint by the father of the deceased that his son has been given slow poison by his wife. Since the man has already been buried, Delhi police has to dig the grave to unravel the truth of the death. "We dug out the grave as the father suspected foul play in his son's death. We had no option but to take out the body from the grave and send it to hospital for postmortem. It is only after the postmortem is done, we would know if it was a murder," said a senior police officer.
Waqil died on March 9 and was buried in the graveyard. He was married to Najma in 2007. It is said that he was ill for a long time and died of brain hemorrhage. The father of the deceased approached the police and accused her daughter-in-law of murdering his son by allegedly giving him some slow poison. "Her daughter-in-law has also given a complaint against her father-in-law. Only the postmortem would tell if it was just a counter complaint or it holds some truth," said an investigating officer.
The family of deceased Waqil who was a carpenter by profession has alleged that they have reasons to suspect their daughter-in-law and are confident that she has poisoned their son hinting towards an extra marital affair.
