Cops crack down on touts troubling foreign tourists in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: Tightening its grip against touts targeting foreign tourists Special Staff of New Delhi District has busted a gang of active touts and arrested one accused Sujal Raheja (30 years), a resident of Laxmi Nagar. The arrest came after a Japanese national who visited India as a tourist, when he was roaming in Connaught Place, where touts interacted and misguided him and duped sum of rupees 9,000 on the pretext of tour of Jaipur and Agra. The Tout offered expensive tour package to the tourist and then withdraw the offer. The amount paid by tourist was made void transaction by the accused.
Continuing its tirade against illegal touts and such elements a team of Special staff is keeping a constant watch over suspicious activities in Connaught Place, Scindia House and other areas frequented by foreign tourists. These places are known for several touts preying on unsuspecting foreigners who become easy victims to the tricks applied by these touts.
