Contractor held for building collapse

Gurugram: Four days after a building collapsed in Gururgam's Ullahwas village, the contractor of the structure, who was named in the FIR, has also been arrested by the law enforcement officials. He will be produced in court on Tuesday said police. The owner of the building was arrested on Friday night. He will be booked under Sections 288 (negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing building), 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 34 (common intent) of IPC.

The semi-constructed three-storey building (on a 125 square yard plot), with concrete roofing placed for the fourth floor, collapsed resulting in the entire building coming down. Kuldeep (32), Vishal (17), Altaf (24), all hailing from UP's Ambedkar Nagar district and Anand (22), who hailed from Samastipur in Bihar were among those killed. The other four victims were from different parts of UP, Bihar.
