Contract killer arrested from Kondli

New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Sunday said that they have arrested a contract killer from DDA Park in Kondli.

Police identified the accused as Vikas Kasana. On July 30, at about 6.30 pm, one Sandeep Nagar was going to his maternal uncle home at Gharoli on his Scooty.

When he reached near the office of MCD Councilor, two persons having pistols in their hands, came on a motorcycle without number plates from behind and started firing on him.

"In the firing, he sustained gunshot injuries in his abdomen. He jumped from the scooty and ran away towards his house. But shooters followed him and fired several rounds but, he managed to escape. On the facts narrated by Sandeep Nagar, a case was registered and the investigation was taken up by local police," police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) DR G Ramgopal Naik said Sandeep Nagar is having a history of enmity with notorious gangsters namely Randeep Bhati and Anil Dujana of Noida.

During the course of the investigation, local police arrested three accused persons who had locally assisted in carrying out the attack on Sandeep Nagar. The case was transferred to crime branch. Later they arrested the accused.

Interrogations of the accused revealed that the complainant Sandeep Nagar is a witness in the case where gangster notorious Randeep Bhati and his associates are accused persons.

Randeep Bhati was transferred to Basti Jail by the Authorities keeping in view his undesirable activities in the local Jail.

"Randeep Bhati sent many feelers to Sandeep Nagar for turning hostile in the court, but he turned down. In the first week of July 2018, accused Vikash Kasana, Arvind Kasana and Sushil Thakur went to Basti Jail and met with Randeep Bhati for further direction," police said.

Randeep Bhati conspired with them and directed them to eliminate Sandeep Nagar and gave advance money of Rs 2 lakh to carry out the attack.
