Constable shoots self to death in Daryaganj

NEW DELHI: A Delhi Police constable posted at Daryaganj police station in Central Delhi committed suicide with his service revolver inside the police barracks on Wednesday evening.
Amit Khokhar was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Khokhar was said to be ill for a long time, but the exact reason for the extreme step is still unknown. Police have not found any suicide note from his possession.
A senior police officer, confirming the incident, said that all angles to the case are being probed. "Till now we have not found any suicide note. He shot himself dead in the head with his service revolver inside the police station premises. We are enquiring about the matter and his family has been informed."
Amit, a resident of Baghpat, had been posted as a constable in Central Delhi's Daryaganj police station.
He reportedly shot himself dead around 5.15 pm. Hearing the gunshot, senior officers gathered at the spot and found his body in a pool of blood.
