Cong candidate Arvind Kumar Singh to contest from GB Nagar

GB Nagar: The Congress party on Saturday night declared the name of its candidate on Gautam Buddh Nagar Lok Sabha seat. Party officials informed that youth leader Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh will be contesting on the GB Nagar seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. As per reports, the name announced is one among the 27 candidates declared by the Congress party on various Lok Sabha seats in UP, Bihar and Chhattisgarh.

Singh, a resident of sector 61 in Noida, had earlier fought Lok Sabha elections in 2014 in Aligarh district from Bahujan Samaj Party. However he had to face a defeat from then elected candidate from BJP, Satish Gautam.

He is the son of BJP MLC Jai Veer Singh and chancellor of Noida International University in Greater Noida. Jaiveer Singh is ex-MLA from BSP party from Barauli seat of Uttar Pradesh and joined BJP in 2017. Singh's mother Raj Kumari Chauhan won Lok Sabha seat from Aligarh district in 2009 and served as MP till 2014. With the announcement of Singh's name, the Congress party seems to attract the young voters of Gautam Buddh Nagar District.

SP-BSP alliance has already declared Satveer Nagar as their candidate from Gautam Buddh Nagar District.
