Co-worker kills man whose smoking 'gave him cancer'

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have solved a murder case where a restaurant employee was shot dead on Friday. Police said the accused Mustaqeem admitted to killing Anayatullah, whose excessive smoking was the reason why the accused got throat cancer.
He also held Anayatullah responsible for the loss of his job at the eatery. Special Staff of South West district were tasked to work on the case.
It was ascertained that Mustakeem was known to the deceased, as both used to work together in the same eatery.
The team analysed call detail records of several phone numbers and interrogated several persons. CCTV footages of several public and private cameras were also scanned and.
Though cops manage to know Mustaqeem was responsible, they had no details of his whereabouts. He had fled to an unknown location and had also switched off his mobile phone.
However, luck ran out for Mustaqeem and he was arrested from Uttam Nagar on Friday. "The accused was suffering from a throat infection for a while and decided to seek medical advice. He claimed that the doctor told him that he had throat cancer due to excessive smoking.After this, the accused confronted the deceased and held him responsible for the alleged disease," said DCP South West Shibesh Singh.
