Cloth seller by day, robber at night

NEW DELHI: When six year ago Waseem came to Delhi from Muzaffarnagar he thought he would make money as a daily wager but he could not and finally turned to crime. He later joined Saddam Gauri gang and Dimple gang in Delhi. He was caught from Uttam Nagar on January 5. One country made pistol (DesiKatta) and two live rounds have been recovered from him.

Waseem alias Nanha alias Bala is a permanent resident of Jansath town in Muzaffar Nagar, (U.P.) and resides alone in B-Block, Uttam Nagar, Delhi. He is illiterate and had come to Delhi for some job. He worked as a labourer for sometime but his small income was always short, he started committing petty crimes to fund his drinking and gambling. Whenever he got enough money, he used to spend it while dancing in pubs at Janakpuri District Centre. There, he met with a young girl Dimple and Rohit, who had been running a gang of robbers, famous as Bunty and Bublee gang.

"He also joined Dimple gang and committed robberies/dacoities with other gang members. The female gang leader rewarded him with an extra part in looted money as he used to entertain the gang with his dance after the loot. Dimple and her entire gang was busted by Special Staff/DwarkaDistrict (the then South-West District) in the leadership of Inspr. Naveen (then SI) when all the members, except Waseem, were arrested in July 2015," said DCP Dwarka, Anto Alphonse.

Waseem fled away from Delhi and stayed in different parts of the country before he came to Delhi last year. His old friend and relative Mohammad Saddam Gori, a criminal of Uttam Nagar area, absorbed him in his own gang and provided him weapon also. During day, Waseem used to roam in the area, also in disguise of a cloth seller, and collect information for the gang.
