Close aide of Sundar Bhati gang arrested

Greater Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Tuesday night arrested an alleged gang member and close aide of the Sundar Bhati gang. The accused was arrested from Badalpur area of Greater Noida followed by a gun battle with police.

The accused has been identified as Haseen, a resident of village Nagla Salempura in Meerut district. He was involved in a number of cases of attempt to murder, robbery, theft and arms Act in NCR. Police recovered a country made pistol and couple of live cartridges were purportedly seized from him. Police also seized a TVS Apache motorcycle which was stolen by him from Kavi Nagar area of Ghaziabad.

However one of his accomplice, Baleshwar managed to flee away from the spot, taking advantage of the darkness, said police.

"Acting on a tip-off, police team conducted raid and arrested the accused from Badalpur railway crossing following a gun battle. Around three cases under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 411 (Dishonestly receiving stolen property) and 25 arms act were registered against the accused." said a senior police official.
