Class 10 student raped, murdered in Gurugram's neighbouring Nuh

Gurugram: What was initially thought to be suicide by a 16-year-old girl turned out to be a gruesome murder at the end.

Just 50 kilometers away from Gurugram, the law enforcement officials have arrested nine people for the rape, murder and covering up the evidence of the death of a minor. On Monday class 10 student was found hanging in her house. It was initially thought to be a matter of suicide.

Post mortem and later investigations by the Nuh police however revealed a chilling fact that the minor was first raped by her friend then strangulated and then hanged.

The main suspect in the case is Khalil (18) who was the friend of the deceased and who is also facing the charge of murdering her.

Other persons arrested by the Nuh police include Nizam, Fakhruddin, Usman, Khurshid, Usman, Ali Mohammad, and Jamshed. The following people helped Khalil in killing the girl and then trying to cover up the entire case.

According to law enforcement officials, Khalil was known to the victim. On Monday the parent of the girl had gone outside for some work. Getting to know that the minor was alone, Khalil visited her house and apparently raped her. He then threatened the survivor to not speak about the incident which the girl refused.

He then called his friends who helped Khalil kill the minor and then in order to cover up the entire crime they hanged the minor so that the entire incident seemed as if it was a case of suicide.

"We made the arrests after it became clear that it was not a matter of suicide but murder. After being presented in court they have been sent to custody. In our investigations Khalil said there were also his accomplices who helped him in committing the crime," said an official from Nuh police.

In recent months, there have been a series of gory incidents of crime against women in Mewat. The following case has also brought in light the sexual crimes against minors.

In an official data Gurugram leads in a number of sexual assault cases against the minors. There were 354 cases registered under the protection of children from sexual offences Act (POCSO).

Co-incidentally the figures were way lower that Faridabad that has total cases of 412 cases of sexual crimes against minors.

The official data from the Gurugram police reveals that on an average of 15 children go missing from the city every month. In 2018 there was a total of 187 children that were abducted. Out of this, there were 50 boys and 137 girls.
