Childless woman kidnaps 12-day old baby; caught

New Delhi: Frustration to not having a baby even after 10 years of marriage and the desire to have one from any means led a woman to meticulously plot and execute the kidnapping of her own sister-in-law's 12 days old baby. The planning was so foolproof that it took several days for the police teams to crack the case and arrest the accused woman who conspired with her sister to kidnap the child from Delhi's Jahangirpuri.
When the cops in North West district received a call about the kidnapping of a 12 days old baby on December 12 , the cops knew that everyone need to be scanned including the parents and close relatives of the victims. A team was formed accordingly and studied the topography of the area from where the incident happened. "Since the child was kidnapped after drugging the parents of the baby boy, we knew that there has to be an insider. We focused on that and carefully studied each character in the story. We zeroed down on four five suspects." said Aslam Khan, DCP North West.
After careful examination and considering the poor financial condition of the victim parents, the cops ruled out the possibility of kidnapping for ransom. "It was when our team visited the native village of one of the victim's sister-in-law in Bijnor in western Uttar Pradesh, we got the interesting plot. Our team was shocked to find out that the accused lady was married for 10 years but was never blessed with a child. Our team got more suspicious when the relative told us that she was expecting now after 10 years of marriage." said Aslam Khan.
The cops took little time to suspect the woman has conspired to steal the child 8 months back and announced her fake pregnancy in her village. Police teams soon arrested the two sisters from Sahibabad in UP and Shastri Nagar in Delhi with the recovery of the child. One of them drugged the family and fled with the baby. "Me and my wife had gone through tough time but we are thankful that the Delhi Police unearthed the plot and united us with our baby." said Raja, father of the child.
