Child beaten to death, accused held

New Delhi: A child was beaten to death by mother's live-in partner in South West Delhi's Kapashera area. Police have arrested the accused in the case. The role of the mother is also being investigated.

The accused identified as Narendra who works in school. Police claimed that the child's father got the phone call on January 10 that his son admitted in the hospital.

"When he reached the hospital he came to know that his son was ill," police said. In the hospital, he was told that his son fell inside the bathroom after eating sweets.

Later, the kid was declared dead by doctors. The kid was living with his mother.

"Later, the medical report claimed that he did not die eating sweet but due to beating. The father suspected the role of his wife and the man with whom she was living from several years," police said.

Further investigation revealed that Narendra is involved in the case and later, arrested. Police also investigating the role of the mother of the deceased in the case as she concocted the false story in the hospital.

Sources claimed that during interrogation, accused claimed that he had beaten the kid after he did not reply to his

question.

"He told us that when the minor came to the house, the accused asked him about the tuition but he did not reply which made Narendra angry and he thrashed him to death," said police officer.

A case under appropriate sections of IPC has been registered.
