CGO fire: Hours before death, father wishes son on marriage anniversary

New Delhi: On the day of his first marriage anniversary, Paritosh (son of slain CISF personnel ) lost his brave father who had wished him in the morning hours before the major fire incident in Lodhi Road's CGO Complex on Wednesday.

At the AIIMS mortuary, Paritosh with other CISF officers were waiting for the body of Sub-Inspector M P Godara who died while saving others from the blaze in the complex.

"Today, was my first marriage anniversary, my father wished me around 4 am through a text a message. The message stated that "Happy Marriage anniversary. My best wishes," said Paritosh.

He further stated that later, he also called him on the phone and asked him about Wednseday''s plan.

"When I started earning I told my father to stay at home but he wanted to serve for the nation," said Paritosh with the numb eyes.

The elder son showed a photograph of MP Godara who he had kept inside wallets.

"One day, he told me that if something happens to him use this photo," said Paritosh.

Paritosh further stated that his body had turned black and windpipe choked due to smoke.

"During the rescue operation, something might have fallen on him and he lost completely in the smoke," said the son adding that he had not told his mother about the incident.

Paritosh will take M P Godara's body to his native place in Churu, Rajasthan.

The CISF man also served the Indian Air Force with respect and dignity.

A CISF officer stated that M P Godara had told people to vacate the place as soon as the fire started and deputed personnel near the spot so that no one can come near the blaze. Inside the floor, nothing was left.

"When we reached the spot, the CISF personnel over there stated that MP Godara was trapped inside we rushed inside the room to rescue him," said a fire department official.
