CBSE exams: Day I goes off well

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) marked the beginning of the 2017 board examinations after 10.98 lakh students appeared for the English exam on Thursday. The students had of mixed reactions after the English exam. While some students found the paper easy, most candidates found the paper lengthy.

Rahil Jain from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road expressing immense joy after the exam said: "I am very satisfied with the question paper. I found the paper easy and finished it before time. I am looking forward to an excellent result in the paper."

The examination, which commenced at 10.30 am and ended at 1.30 pm, had a 2.28 percent increase in the number of enrolled students from the previous year.

Aayushii Dhawan from Manav Sthali School, Delhi said: "Out of all the sections, the reading section of the exam was very tough and lengthy as compared to previous years' question papers. The questions in the writing sections could have been better but the literature section was simple and fun to do."

"I feel a little disappointed because of the length of the paper. I could not even get time to revise my answers in the end," she added.

Tanmay Nagpal from DPS, Mathura Road said: "Today's paper has increased my confidence level and I am anxiously waiting for the next one. The paper was a bit lengthy but good. I just feel that the standard of the writing section could have been improved."
