Casino racket: 5 cops suspended for negligence

New Delhi: Finding negligence from their part, Delhi Police suspended five police personnel including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Fatehpur Beri, two days after south Delhi police busted a secret casino running inside a farm house of a retired army personnel in Dera Mandi Road.
Law enforcement agency arrested 30 persons, including the owner of property, dealer, organisers, players and attendants.
Public Relations Officer of Delhi Police Madhur Verma stated that in the wake of busting of illegal casino by Vigilance Branch, Delhi Police has sent a strong message to its non performing and delinquent personnel that no such lapses or negligence will be tolerated and the staff must pull up their socks and be vigilant of activities taking place in their area.
"Five men including Inspector Govind Chauhan (SHO) two assistant sub inspectors Brij Kishore, Rajender, head constable Ravinder and constable Puran have been suspended," said Verma.
Police sources said that so far they have not found any links to the accused persons involved in the running casino with any other illegal racket but they are investigating the case from all angles.
According to police, the arrest in the case was made on Tuesday after they got an information about the illegal activity happening inside the farm house after which police team arrested the accused persons which also include a women and also some natives of Nepal.
"The main accused were identified as Radhey Shyam, Vinay Nag, Sandeep Gaba and Vishal Goyal they were dealer as well as organizer of the illegal activity," police said, adding that the property belongs to one Rajesh Yadav, who was a retired army personnel who is also booked in this case as he did not make any tenant verification of the people living in the farm house.
Police seized chips which worth more than Rs three crore .
