Busy Diwali for police, over 3,000 kg of crackers seized

NEW DELHI: With Delhi Police personnel on their toes this Diwali, more than 11,000 crime-related calls. Cops also arrested 140 people in Diwali for different crimes.
Delhi Police also continued their crackdown on illegal sale of firecrackers, as they arrested 88 persons for illegal sale of firecrackers, seizing over 3,000 kilograms of crackers.
Data accessed by Millennium Post showed that the highest number of calls received were of quarrels, i.e. 4,933.
This was followed by 669 calls regarding theft, followed by calls for snatching and robbery.
The law enforcement agency also received 88 calls which include rape, molestation and eve teasing.
Around 11 calls were of murder and attempt to murder. The calls were from 12 am to 11.59 pm.
