Burglar on Mumbai cops' radar falls in Delhi Police net

New Delhi: How watching a theft thriller and aspiring not to be a doctor or engineer but a notorious thief is the story of the burglar who was infamous for a series of thefts in Mumbai and Delhi.
Sahib, 28, was on the wanted list of the Mumbai police after he comitted some meticulos and tricky thefts in Mumbai.
However, the Delhi Police's Shahdara team outclassed and caught him from Geeta Colony.
Aspiring to become 'Bunty Chor' after watching the movie 'Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye', Sahib became a challenge for both Mumbai and Delhi police and why not, this 28-year-old burglar had 41 cases of theft against his name.
"He started his career in crime from Mumbai when he was a teenager and stole a bicycle to impress his girlfriend. Later, he came to Delhi. He aimed to commit more burglaries of sensational nature which resembled the modus operandi used by Bunty alias Devinder Singh," said Nupur Prasad, DCP Shahdara.
Sahib was arrested from Geeta Colony on specific input on 23 February. Based on his revelation, six laptops, five wrist watches, gold ornaments worth Rs seven lakh, 10 silver coins, 37 mobile phones, two two-wheelers, several silver utensils, thre CCTV cameras, a device alongwith a CPU used to crack IMEI of stolen cell phones, various tools for house breaking, and various fake number plates of vehicles were recovered.
Additionally, on his disclosure, three persons, namely Imran alias Saleem, Deep and Rajnish Manchanda were also arrested.
The first two received the stolen articles from Sahib and the third one helped him to crack the IMEI numbers of the stolen mobile phones.
