Builder booked for harassing female resident, family

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad police have booked a real estate builder for allegedly harassing the family of a female resident who lived in one of his residential society in Vasundhara area of Ghaziabad. The accused also used goons to thrash victim's mother in order to threaten the family, the victim has alleged.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Manish Aggarwal, a Ghaziabad-based builder and a resident of Indirapuram area.

As per reports, the victim, who runs a boutique in Noida alleged that she along with her mother had shifted in the flat in sector 6 in Vasundhara area which lacked basic amenities including lifts and security.

"A few months ago we have shifted in the society and found that there was no lift while the quality of material used by builder at the time of construction is very poor. Several times we have made complains but the builder always threaten us. A few days ago the builder also stopped power supply of our flat and when my mother went to complaint about this, the builder's goons thrashed my mother and slapped her. I also saw them thrashing my 70-year-old mother. The accused also used to send lewd messages to my sister and invite her for late night parties but she always denied," said the victim.

The woman also feared a life threat from the builder as he was found following her car a few times and she feared that he might kill her in a road accident.

Meanwhile police have registered a case against the accused while they are yet to make any arrest. "Based on the complaint received, an FIR under sections 323, 504, 506 and 354D of IPC has been registered against Manish Aggarwal. We are yet to make any arrest while further investigations are underway," said Sandeep Kumar Singh, SHO of Indirapuram police station.
